Recognized as Denver’s official run for Veterans, this is a memorial 5K & 10K virtual run, open to everyone. ALL proceeds of your registration (and donations!) goes directly to helping Colorado Veterans. The Denver Veterans Day Run is hosted by Colorado Veterans Project, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that hosts special events in order to raise awareness and funds for local Veteran organizations. Our mission is to enhance pride and patriotism in all Coloradans by building a stronger, more supportive community around our Veterans.

  • Create Your Own 5K/10K Route.
    This is a virtual run, so the route is completely up to you! Run your 5K, 10K, or 30K in your neighborhood, a nearby park, a mountain trail, a treadmill at the gym… the possibilities are endless! You can use an app like Map My Run to plan your route, discover new trails and record your run.

  • Record Your Time Through RunSignUp.
    Record your finish time online through RunSignUp.com. Regardless of finish time, we’ll mail your Finisher’s medal, Race T-shirt, and commemorative race bib directly to the address you registered with.

  • Compete on the Virtual Leaderboard.
    We encourage everyone to join in this friendly competition! Check the Virtual Leaderboard to see the top finishers. Sort by distance, gender, age, etc..

Want to show your true motivation and dedication in our toughest Veterans Day competition yet? Test your mettle this year with the Rippetoe Rucksack Challenge. Carry a 25-pound ruck or backpack during your 10K Run.

This competition is in honor of Army Capt. Russell B. Rippetoe, who attended Metro State College in Denver and ROTC. A member of the 75th Ranger Regiment, he was killed in action on April 3, 2003 serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Read More >

FAQ

If you are participating in-person, the event will be held on November 11th at City Park. If you are participating virtually, you can run anytime between November 1st and 12th, 2023. Location is ANYWHERE in the world!

We recommend apps like MapMyRun, RunKeeper, or Strava to discover and plan routes and record your distance & time. Also see our usual 5K/10K route in City Park, map below.

If you are running in-person, results will be posted immediately after crossing the finish line. If you are running virtually, results can only be submitted DURING the virtual race: November 1-12, 2022. Go to RunSignUp.com to view the virtual leaderboard and submit your results. To submit your results, make sure you’re logged in and click on “Submit Your Results” under the Results page. More details here.

Yes, packet pickup will be Friday, November 10th, 3-6 pm at JackRabbit (formally Boulder Running Company): 2500 E. 1st Ave, Denver, CO 80206

You can also pick up packets on Race Day at the Registration Booth.

If you are a virtual registrant, Finisher’s medal, Race T-shirt (you will select the unisex size during registration), and race bib will be mailed directly to you via the address you provide when you register. We will be mailing out Swag packages on 11/21.
